Age Requirement
Must be at least 18 years of age
Pre-Enrollment
Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability and support needs
Assessment
Complete OCT's ACSF LLN assessment
English Language Requirements
International students must demonstrate English proficiency through recognized tests such as IELTS (5.5), TOEFL (46), Cambridge English (162), or PTE Academic (42). Alternative pathways are available for students from English-speaking countries or with previous English-medium education.
Students must provide evidence of having an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500) upon acceptance.
Physical Requirements & Assessment
Physical Capabilities
The role of an automotive electrician requires reasonable physical fitness to perform tasks including:
  • Constant hand function and lifting up to 2kg
  • Frequent standing and reaching
  • Lifting from floor to overhead (2kg to 15kg)
  • Pushing and pulling components
Students must discuss any concerns during the course entry interview.

  • Practical demonstrations observed by assessors
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfers (CT) are available to all students.
